Sustainability and Wellness on the Ranch

Where feasible, we have implemented solar power-generating stations to power such things as fans, and other equipment to keep our animals comfortable, healthy, and happy.

The Ranch has also introduced wind power to its energy portfolio.  In our case, power captured from wind is used to power pumps and aerators around our ponds.

Our rainwater collection system gathers rain from the four corners of our home and barn, and delivers that water to two, 7,000 gallon cisterns, where we pump from to water our plants.

Our animals free-range the ranch, eating what they please, when they please, supplementing with pellets.  Our secret to great eggs is happy chicken and quail.  We never use pesticides or chemicals on the ranch.

From the free-ranging chickens, to the tilapia swimming in our stock tanks, everything on the ranch has a purpose, and contributes to the growth and overall wellbeing of everything on the ranch

Where appropriate, we divert food and leftovers to the animals, for their consumption.

With all of the food and plant waste we go through, where possible, we compost green and brown organic material.  Sometimes the chickens and peacocks get to it first though!
